Board Meeting

The monthly meeting of the Fairwood West Homeowners’ Association Board of Trustees was called to order at 7:00 pm on Thursday August 14th, 2014.  Trustees in attendance were Adrian Ryneveld, Raymond Byrd, Eileen Richards and Christine Sylvia.  Also in attendance was Barb Simeona, Association Bookkeeper, and two homeowners.

Any changes to the outside of your home must have
an approved architectural control form on file
prior to work being done on the home.

Renton Fire Department – No one present to report.

Homeowner Appeals – No one present to appeal.

Community Events – Eileen reported that the annual garage sale went well.  There was a truck that came around and picked up left over items.

Pride In Ownership – There were four nominations discussed – Eileen will pick one and present the award.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting – A motion was made seconded and approved to accept the July meeting minutes as amended. 

Take out the comma after Adrian in the first opening paragraph and under new business the first paragraph should say “out of his home”.

Financial Report – The monthly financial report was presented. 

Treasurer’s Report – Ray will begin the process of putting together the proposed 2015 budget.  The Board will review in September.

Architectural Control Report – Three painting requests were turned in and were all approved.

Common Properties Report – Adrian reported that he received a call that our grant application with King County was accepted and is now one of the three that are going before Council today or tomorrow.  There should be a final decision on Monday.

Covenant Enforcement – All homes in violation were reviewed. 

Unfinished Business – The Board asked the CC&R landscaper to please provide a bid on the abandoned home on 132nd Pl SE.  Ray has spoken with the bank that owns the home and explained the CC&R process.

New Business – The Board received notification from Thomas Richards that he is resigning his park garbage can duties as of 8/14.  The Board further discussed the garbage can in the park.  It was approved to cancel the garbage pickup services in the park effective immediately.

There was discussion regarding bringing in a dumpster once or twice per year.

Eileen reported that homes within the city limits of Renton can get vacation checks done by the City police.

The meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m. after a motion was made, 2nd and approved to adjourn.

The next two meetings of the Fairwood West Homeowners’ Association will be held on Thursday September 11th and Thursday October 9th both at 7 pm.  These meetings are in the portable building at the Nativity Lutheran Church, 17707 140th SE.  The October meeting is the annual meeting.
